Andy Hayt is one of America’s most respected sports photographers. In his 5 decade career, Andy hasenjoyed access to much of the country’s premier sporting events, including MLB, NBA, NFL games as well as heavyweight boxing and the Olympics.

Andy’s unique photographic style celebrates both art and sports. He has produced 46 covers for Sports Illustrated, including four for the Super Bowl issues. Andy captured the now iconic first “high-five” celebration, introducing that gesture to the world.

Andy covered NBA basketball games in every major market for more than a decade. His images of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are instantly recognizable to basketball fans everywhere. Many of these photographs were included in the retrospective Netflix series “The Last Dance.”

Andy enjoyed a twenty-year relationship with the San Diego Padres Baseball Club, including photographing their record run to the 1998 World Series and creating The Sweet Spot, which commemorated the construction of Petco Park. Andy’s work with Tony Gwynn is generally recognized as producing the best photographs ever taken of San Diego’s favorite athlete.

Andy’s work is featured in many private collections. He has been recognized by the NFL and Pictures of the Year in photo competitions. He has been featured in Bryn Campbell’s Great Action Photography and on the online museum “Art Loves Sports.”
